For the second occasion in Eindhoven, this edition of the GGD brought together a diverse and international crowd of women (and some men, too!) in the fields of innovation, science, and technology for an evening of good food and drinks, conversation, networking and plain old fun.
Mariska van Dalen kicked off the evening by exploring different perspectives of sustainability and corporate social responsibility based on her previous and current working experiences at the Dutch Ministry VROM, Triodos Bank, and Tebodin. Her presentation triggered a lively discussion that blended policy, finance, and engineering in the quest for feasible roadmaps towards sustainable production and consumption.
Following Mariska’s presentation, Margot Nijkamp-Diesfeldt wittily delved into the girl geek psyche and the superpowers qualities that give us Girl Geeks a competitive edge in the working world. Margot proved to be well versed in Girl Geek kryptonite pitfalls as well; she provided helpful pointers to turn these into opportunities for growth, always with the premise of staying true to oneself. Finally, based on her extensive experiences with start-ups, she emphasized the importance of collaboration and synergy to achieve innovation.
