Introducing GGD21 speaker Anouk Visser

29 September 2017

On October 19 something cool is happening: Girl Geek Dinner 21. The theme: women who rock A.I.! One of the three speakers is Anouk Visser. Here’s some more info about this talented young lady.

With a bachelors and masters in Artificial Intelligence, Anouk started her career using drones and computer vision technology to recognise rhino poachers in South Africa, alerting rangers to potential dangers. With her fellow graduates she started Birds.ai, and took the technology further, using drones to detect defects on large structures such as solar panels and wind turbines. Birds.ai now creates cutting edge image analysis Software as a Service to locate objects and defects for visual inspections.

Anouk is also an active ambassador of women in technology, having taught Ruby on Rails to women in the non-profit organisation Rails Girls, as well as coaching girls of 10yrs old in the field of computer science and organising past Girl Geek Dinner events.
