Another dinner done: Women who rock A.I.!

24 October 2017

And good fun it was! About 40 people, almost all women, gathered at the Rockstart office in Amsterdam on Oct 19 to listen to three wonderful speakers talk about their experience with and in A.I., all led by moderator and former Girl Geek Dinner organiser Karin van Soest.

The setup was that the three ladies were interviewed by Karin about a variety of A.I. related topics. Anouk Visser of Birds.ai was asked what made her dive into the world of A.I. and what projects she’s done; Simona Nickmanova of Cities.ai told the crowd about the importance of having AI-communities and why women are not well-presented – which sparked a room wide discussion about how badly the Netherlands scored. And last but not least, Marjel Quekel told us all about data-driven wine, which led her to her current job, Program Director for AI Startups.

The second part of the evening was one about discussing A.I.-ethics, what women can do in it, and how to start in A.I. All in all a informative evening with great food from YangMing restaurant.
